Since 2018, Yellowstone Bourbon has partnered with the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) in a shared mission to protect our nation’s public lands. Over the past seven years, the brand has donated $1,000,000 to help preserve national parks and inspire the next generation of park advocates. Yellowstone Bourbon came to us to create an annual collection of limited-release Bourbons to commemorate their 150 years of history. The name and packaging for this new offering needed to honor the brand’s iconic past.
We developed the name, Recollection, to encapsulate the nostalgia of the collection and appeal to whiskey connoisseurs seeking a limited release bottle to add to their collection. The bottle shape and design were inspired by the brand’s historic hand-painted bottles. A historic version of the wordmark was revitalized and utilized as a cartouche in the glass and then screen-printed along with the iconic Yellowstone waterfall. The textural paper label allows the product information to be easily updated each year, providing flexibility to create each new release.
