The design needed to be elevated to match the legacy of the Shafer brand while modernizing the interface and design as the brand looks to the future. Additionally, it needed to be mobile-friendly, streamline the path-to-purchase, highlight their experience offerings at the winery, and their commitment to sustainability.
CF Napa leveraged video of the brand and stunning estate to create a cinematic feel for the site. The homepage, wines, and visit sections all feature breathtaking video headers to transport the viewer to the estate. The homepage became a quick overview and link to the portfolio of wines, experiences available at the winery, and Shafer’s commitment to sustainability, making it easy for customers to quickly shop and learn more about the wines and estate. Copy was kept to a minimum alongside collages of lifestyle photography, providing a taste of a visit to the estate. The mobile-first approach to the design ensures that the site looks beautiful on any device.
CF Napa created a bespoke mailer to announce the newest release of their pinnacle wine, Hillside Select. The design needed to convey the luxury of the Shafer brand, generate a buzz of excitement over the new vintage, and celebrate the launch of the new wine packaging.
CF Napa created a sophisticated matte black folio debossed with an artistic representation of the Hillside Select vineyard rows utilized on their new package and the Shafer wordmark emblazoned in glossy black foil. A zip tear strip was incorporated to create a clean and elegant way to open the envelope. The folio reveals individual inserts that include a welcome letter, the story of the new Hillside Select vintage told through the lens of the winemaker and renowned wine critics, and full-color photography of the new wine packaging. The letter from winemaker Elias Fernandez celebrates his 40th year at Shafer and adds a personalized touch.

Through a dual approach of an on-location shoot and in-studio session, CF Napa captured footage of the winery and the wine bottles. From the developed footage, CF Napa crafted a cinematic video that unveiled the new packaging through captivating pour shots and close ups of the labels. Supporting footage of sweeping views of the Shafer estate highlight the stunning beauty of the property and the historic vineyards, further communicating the story of this iconic brand
The 2023 brand video needed to display Shafer's portfolio of opulent wines and honor the legendary winemaker, Elias Fernandez, as he celebrates his 40th harvest with the winery.
CF Napa developed a stunning video featuring the Shafer family wines alongside the key characteristics that make each wine unique. Quick intercuts of bottle spins and wine pours maintain the lively pace of the video and hold the attention of the viewer. Footage of Elias and the vineyards pays tribute to the harmonization of fruit and winemaking magic that goes into the iconic Shafer wines.
