Wine, beer, farm-to-table dining, and events blend together to bring an epicurean experience to New England. The winery, owned & operated by the Nunes family, came to CF Napa to refresh their core tier packaging. While the portfolio is known for its funky designs, the core tier wines represent their more serious offerings. The refreshed design needed to support this, express the winery’s city-by-the-sea vibe, and coincide with an increase in price point.
The Newport Vineyards fish and grape icon was a key equity element to be carried forward. The refreshed packaging design gave due prominence to the beloved symbol by giving it primary hierarchy on the front label and embellishing it with a gold foil emboss. The focus on the icon supported the winery’s unique, coastal locale. A modern serif font was selected for the wordmark and contrasted with the elegant script utilized for the varietal. The typestack gave the design a more classic, recognizable feel. The statement, “Nunes Family Roots Since 1917” asserted the winery’s longevity as one of New England’s premier wineries.
