The name Eight North brings together the Lawer family’s Alaskan roots, their core values, and dedication to the Calistoga community. The Alaska state flag displays eight stars that together form the Big Dipper constellation and Polaris, or North Star– constellations used to determine true north. The Lawer family has eight core values that form their true north and guide their business.
We developed a wordmark and icon to encapsulate the meaning behind the name. The elegant, unique icon combines the number 8 with a representation of the North Star. Its strength is its simplicity. It can be used alone or with the wordmark, providing flexibility for the brand across different use cases. The wordmark echoes the icon with the North Star placed in the center of the letter O.
